The new academic year 1405 has officially begun across the country
The new academic year 1405 was formally inaugurated in the presence of the respected leadership of the Ministry of Education, high ranking officials, and a number of esteemed members of the Cabinet of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, along with guests, religious scholars, professors and teachers, students, and members of the education sector.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. Subsequently, Mr. Aziz Ahmad Ryan, Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Education, welcomed the officials and guests, provided detailed information about the program for the commencement of the new academic year, and delivered the message of H.E. Alhaj Mawlawi Habibullah Agha, Minister of Education of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, on the occasion of the start of the academic year 1405.
Part of the message stated: “As in previous years, the Ministry of Education of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan remains committed this academic year to providing sound, standard, and balanced education and upbringing for the children of the homeland, and to implementing its beneficial plans and programs.”
The message also referred to the establishment of Imam Abu Yusuf Model High School (may Allah have mercy on him), which has been designated for the continuation of studies and academic training of outstanding students from nationwide institutions.
Sheikh Mohammad Tawos Tariq, Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Education, in his remarks congratulated the people of Afghanistan on the beginning of the new academic year and stated: “This ministry is committed to strengthening both religious education and modern sciences,” adding that efforts in this regard will continue.
Furthermore, H.E. Alhaj Mawlawi Sibghatullah Wasel, Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration, highlighted the achievements of the past year and noted: “The curriculum for grades one to six has been developed and is under printing, and during the past year, a total of 800 school buildings have been repaired and renovated.”
During the event, officials of the ministry also emphasized issues such as continuing the simplification of administrative procedures, completing educational infrastructure and renovation projects across the country, providing educational facilities, and ensuring balanced educational development, especially in remote provinces and areas.
In continuation of the ceremony, H.E. Alhaj Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Administrative Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office; Sheikh Noorul Haq Anwar, Head of the Administrative Affairs Office; and Sheikh Khairullah Khairkhah, Minister of Information and Culture, each spoke about the importance and benefits of knowledge in the development and progress of the country and the well being of society. They also urged families to send their children to schools and madrasas, and praised the ministry’s performance and achievements over the past year.
Between the speeches, student groups from madrasas and schools performed poems and patriotic songs in praise of knowledge, which were warmly received by the audience.
The ceremony concluded with a prayer for the prosperity of the country and the advancement of the education system, delivered by H.E. Alhaj Mawlawi Karamatullah Akhundzada, Deputy Minister for Islamic Education.
