Inauguration of 30 Construction and Renovation Projects Worth 40 Million Afghanis by the Minister of Education in Balkh Province
Honorable Alhaj Mawlawi Habibullah Agha, Minister of Education, during his official visits to the northern provinces, arrived in Balkh Province and inaugurated 30 educational construction and renovation projects. These projects include the construction and renovation of school buildings, drilling of drinking water wells, and the building of latrines and boundary walls, all completed at a total cost of 40 million Afghanis and officially put into operation.
In a ceremony held on this occasion at Ferdowsi Local School in Nahr-e-Shahi District of Balkh Province—with the participation of Honorable Mufti Mohammad Sharif Usmani, the Head and officials of the Provincial Department of Education, several directors and local government officials from both civilian and military sectors, as well as esteemed religious scholars, the Minister delivered an extensive speech on improving the quality of education. He emphasized that scholars and teachers are responsible not only for teaching religious sciences but also for providing modern education to students.
Subsequently, the Head of the Balkh Department of Education welcomed the Minister to the province and spoke about the importance of knowledge and learning. He stated that educational professionals have a duty to work toward the development of the educational community and added that a society only progresses when teachers practice piety and students maintain sincerity.
It is worth mentioning that 11 of these projects, located in the central areas and districts of Balkh Province, were funded by the Afghans Supporting Education Organization at a cost of 30 million Afghanis, while the remaining 19 projects were financed by the Ministry of Education’s budget amounting to 10 million Afghanis.
